Can I Get A Job If I Am In Bankruptcy?
There are many who hold the misguided view that bankruptcy is something reserved for the irresponsible
. But given the financial reality of our world today, that's simply wrong. For many, bankruptcy is a solution to the debt problems that threaten the livelihood of their families.
Along the same lines, many people still think that having a bankruptcy on your credit report will make it impossible to get a job. Everybody knows that its hard to find a job right now. It is true that some employers will search your credit history. And yes, a bankruptcy will be there, but its presence on your credit report may only require a little explanation.
Bankruptcy does not say anything about you as a person. A bankruptcy actually signals that you have taken steps to improve your credit and secure your financial future. It is a responsible move that you made to take care of your family and make sure that your debt no longer interfered with the pursuit of your careerand it can be explained just like that to your potential employer
The truth about bankruptcy is that many people file because of a life-changing event. A job loss, reduction in pay, or medical emergency permanently changes your life at a time and in a manner you don't expect. If this is the case, you must only think about how to get yourself and your family through the tough times. The best choice for your family very well may be bankruptcy. It doesn't mean you are irresponsible or a bad personin reality, bankruptcy can be a sign of your responsibility and dedication to your family. Your employer will most likely understand these feelings.
The whole point of filing bankruptcy is for your life to longer revolve around debt. After you tell your potential employer the reasons why you decided to go into bankruptcy, they will most likely understand and get on to the next part of the interview. There will be no need for them to dwell on itand no reason for you to keep thinking about it either.
Also remember: you might not even be asked about the bankruptcy. You are not supposed to just give up your life if you decide to pursue bankruptcy. It's actually the opposite. Your new job or career is waiting for you. You deserve it.
