Can Liposuction And Other Cosmetic Surgeries Make You Look Exactly How You Want?

What would happen if people could make themselves look the way they wanted to look

? Chances are that everyone would end up looking basically the same. Everyone would get whatever body shape or set of facial features were in style at the time. As sci-fi as that sounds, we have no technology today that makes such a thing possible. Even liposuction can only do so much to sculpt a person's body.

It can be entertaining to observe how hard people try to be like each other. Fashions change as quickly as the shifting sands of the sea. One moment, the pants are tight; the next moment they are excessively baggy.

The changes in clothing and hair styles are readily noticeable, but there are other fashions that change as well. Beauty standards shift constantly as well. The famous beautiful women of the thirties were quite a bit different from the babes of the eighties. Even the perfect female body has changed over time.

While many time periods of the past equated fatness with beauty, our present era is quite the opposite. Women are expected to be extremely thin with very few curves and absolutely no extra visible fat. But mysteriously, even though women are expected to be very thin, they are somehow supposed to have large breasts. In their natural state, most extremely thin women do not very large breasts, and the standard of being very, very thin but also well-endowed up top is not realistic for most women.

It's no wonder that women are constantly fantasizing about changing their bodies. If being beautiful requires having a certain body, many women are happy and willing to make changes to their bodies. This is why cosmetic surgeries are constantly growing in popularity. The dream of being able to make yourself beautiful is too alluring for many to pass up.

But cosmetic surgeries can only do so much. Take liposuction as an example. It can be a very effective body-sculpting tool, but the changes that the surgery brings about are relatively small. Recipients of liposuction find that having a few pounds of fat removed from their bodies can improve the way that clothing fits their bodies. They are able to have small areas of their bodies trimmed up and made to look more toned.

Even though these results may be noticeable in the short term, the person's body is actually changed very little by having had liposuction done. The basic shape of the body is still the same and the genetic propensity to put on weight in certain places cannot be altered by liposuction.

The pipe dream of being able to make yourself beautiful is not possible to reality. A person may or may not be born looking like the current standard of beauty. Cosmetic surgeries can do very little to change that. Probably the most significant change brought about through having cosmetic surgeries done is the boost of confidence that many experience because of their changed appearances. The question is; do you really need to have cosmetic surgery to improve your confidence or is it possible to do it on your own?
