Can Liposuction Help Women Deal With The Emotional Difficulties Of Giving Birth?
Childbirth can be traumatic to the body and some women may be tempted to turn to
liposuction to make them feel more attractive again after having a baby. It is worthwhile to examine just what physiological changes happen to the body of a woman during childbirth. Can liposuction really correct those changes or might it be better for women to find other ways to cope with the changes that come with a new baby?
When a woman becomes pregnant, her body immediately begins to change. Right from the beginning, hormones begin pumping and these hormones are largely responsible for the changes that follow. The mother's body provides all the nourishment a growing child will need, and this is why it's common for pregnant mothers to gain weight. The body wants to be sure that there's plenty of extra fuel on hand to keep the baby healthy.
The weight gain associated with childbirth is not a bad thing; it's normal and most physicians are actually worried if the mother doesn't gain at least some weight during pregnancy.
Aside from putting on weight, the woman's body rearranges, so to speak. One thing that changes is that the hips widen to make room for a child to be delivered and the widened hips can be noticeable.

Share: Although all of these changes are significant, most women lose a lot of the excess weight with the birth of the baby. The small amount that is left over is often hard to lose and this may be why some women consider liposuction.
But liposuction, like any surgery, is not a good idea for some time after childbirth. It takes time for a woman to heal properly from giving birth, and liposuction cannot be done to women who are nursing.
Even if a woman is not nursing, liposuction may not be the way to go. The often unaddressed emotional difficulties that can come with giving birth may make a fat-removing procedure seem like just the thing to do. Women will try to make themselves look better in the attempt to feel better rather than addressing the underlying emotional needs.
Usually seen as a way to become more beautiful, liposuction is actually a relatively small procedure that doesn't dramatically improve a person's appearance. Generally, it does improve a small area of the body, (Many woman have difficulty keeping fat off of their thighs, for example.) but it can't change overall appearance.
More importantly in this context, having cosmetic surgery cannot take away emotional difficulties, and there can be no doubt that giving birth to a child comes with its fair share of those. At best, liposuction can make people look a little better and feel more confident.
It can be helpful to talk to others who have given birth as well who might understand the emotional challenges. Taking action, such as getting back into an exciting exercise routine, can help lift spirits and improve health. Although cosmetic surgery may be helpful to some, it is not the answer for everyone.
