Can You Learn Conversational Hypnosis?

There are many people who believe that hypnosis is real

. It seems there are an equal number who believe otherwise. The facts may lie somewhere between a desperate longing to escape responsibility for one's actions by blaming a state of hypnosis and an actual ability to convince someone in a wide awake state that they are in a semi lucid state.

It would certainly be easy to say that hypnosis is a total scam from every angle, if it weren't for the fact that the concept is used every day, all over the world, for reasons ranging from guided self-help efforts to pain management by medical professionals.

The modern discovery of the existence of hypnosis is largely credited to a Dr. Milton H. Erickson, a medical student that became so fascinated in the way that the mind works, and doesn't work, that he became a self taught, albeit renowned, psychiatrist. His lifetime of study and body of work would be left behind upon his death in 1980.

He most certainly "discovered" facets about the unique set of mental circumstances that the medical community was beginning to label as hypnotism. He would use these discoveries both to his own advantage as well as to attempt to share them with the medical establishment of the time.

Many people have observed that his concepts revolve around a highly developed ability to literally con subjects by keenly observing nuances of their appearance, put into context with the physical setting they are encountered in to drive their behavior in one way or another.

To the extent that is true will be debated for decades yet to come. With further study of the core realities presented by many of his claims other, more cynical researchers have found there seem to be some limited applications for hypnosis that actually do produce results.

Biofeedback is only one of these spin offs, with speculation that the Eastern and Indian culture of "chi" taps into the actuality of hypnotic existence. From fakirs and firewalkers to Manhattan psychologists, the ability to self hypnotize and extend guided thoughts into the mind of others presents an intriguing possibility that conversational hypnosis may be a usable activity.

With a willing self-appointed successor to Erickson's thesis, Igor Ledochowski has approached the subject in a more practical fashion. Collating Erickson's rough database of information, Ledochowski has presented the sum of his work as a learnable craft.

Facilitated by a modern presentation of a multiple disc set suitable for computerized playback, Ledochowski asserts that by using his methodology to learn conversational hypnosis, an average person can influence people for purposes including self-advancement, social change, or profiteering. Whether his product lives in the popular social landscape as another hokey scam or a valuable method to improve life conditions remains to be seen.

An interesting litmus test of the applicability of the methodology is that Ledochowski has not been arrested or prosecuted for fraud, which is usually the case sooner or later for the average charlatan. If one wishes to learn this technique, it appears that Ledochowski if offering a portal with which to do so with his methodology.
