Candida Diet - Take Control Of Your Health
Is a candida diet right for me? If you're suffering from any of the long list of symptoms caused by candida overgrowth or just want to live your life a little healthier then the answer is YES! Candida albicans is yeast that can overgrow and cause numerous health problems. Issues usually present themselves in the mouth, vagina and intestines. It can cause fatigue, headaches, joint pain, and cravings (especially for sweets and sugar). The candida diet outlines foods to avoid. This is done in order to starve and kill off the overgrowth of yeast and rid your body of its harmful toxins.
Let me just state that before beginning any diet, this one included, you should meet with your doctor. If you're suffering from a lot of the symptoms above it's smart to have a checkup and make sure there aren't more serious issues at play.
Another thing you want to do is buy your groceries well in advance, this is a restrictive diet and a hard one to follow without the right ingredients. Don't put yourself in a position to fail! I would also strongly suggest getting rid of anything that would tempt you to cheat. You should throw away anything that contains sugar as this is one of the main cravings you'll have when starving the candida. After all if you're only surrounded by healthy food it'll be that much easier to stay on point.
A full candida cleanse usually takes between 3 and 8 weeks, depending on how severe the symptoms and the length they've been occurring. In the beginning you may notice more symptoms then prior to beginning the diet. Don't worry! As the candida begins to die off they dump more toxins into your system. This just means the diet is working and within a week you'll have flushed away all those nasty toxins for good. This is one of those times where patience really is a virtue!
Now some people stop there candida diet at the point they begin to feel better again. Others choose to make it a more permanent way of life citing improved energy, mood and weight loss. Whichever option you choose is up to you but I suggest trying to eliminate as much sugary and starchy food as you can. This will help prevent any further candida infections from happening in the future.
