Gellite Candles has worked with a number of different groups and also with several fundraising professionals and have come up with a number of really helpful tips for anyone running a fundraiser.

It doesn't really matter whether you are doing PTA fundraising, school fundraising, or sports group fundraising, or whether you are using a candle fundraiser, candy fundraiser, or if you have other ideas for fundraising, these tips will help you with any kind of fundraiser.

The biggest question that I get all the time is what is the one thing that can really increase the sales for a fundraiser?

The answer is motivation. Motivating the sellers is one of the most important things that a fundraising group can do. This can be done in a number of ways.

The first way that I would recommend would be a recognition or reward system. This can be as simple as saying that if you sell at least $100 dollars of a product, you get to come to a pizza party, to as complex as a multi-level prize system allowing the sellers to "step up" to the next prize level based on sales dollars with additional prizes for the top sellers.

Another option would be that anyone that sells so many products gets entered into a drawing for some prize that is appropriate for that age group.

A good current example of this would be a contest where anyone that sells over $200 of product gets entered into a drawing for an Ipad with additional entries for every $100 of product sold. Since this is the hottest device out there, it will have a high motivational value for a great number of sellers and should greatly out produce the extra cost of having to pay for the prize.
