Canon Imageclass Mf7460 Tabloid Sized Document Glass On Compact Mfc
Designed specifically to squeeze as many industrial grade features into a compact
multifunctional center, and get as close as possible with others, the Canon ImageClass MF7460 truly outperforms other MFC printers in its category, while redefining what is possible with a moderate level print machine.
With an incredible 11 in x 17 in tablet / ledger sized document glass, the Canon ImageClass MF7460 can scan an image of huge proportions. Not only is this useful for copying oversized three dimensional objects such as large books and magazines, but via the devices giant automatic document feeder, ledger sized paper can be loaded automatically in large quantities as well though, since technically the actual document glass is larger by .75 inches (11.75 x 17 in), the ADF is slightly more limited.
Cool, luxury features are incorporated into the Canon ImageClass MF7460s hardware just like its industrial size counterparts, such as a VGA touch screen panel that makes navigation though complex menus easier than ever, and all this in a unit that is only 24.5 (W) x 26.3 (D) x 29.8 (H) in size; more than twice as small than full sized copy machines.
Its weight of 128 pounds isnt exactly petite, but is still much more manageable and maneuverable than other units. The Canon ImageClass MF7460 operates at a print speed of 25 pages per minute which is, admittedly, much slower than industrial grade machines. This speed is, however, plenty of quickness for most small to medium sized offices with regular workloads, and what it lacks in speed, it makes up for with robust hardware.
The units built in automatic duplexor makes double sided printing task free and, with the automatic document feeder, whole stacks of single sided input could be converted to double sided output with almost no user intervention. Utilizing two sided printing not only provides that extra feel of professionalism to bound workloads, it also reduces paper usage, and cost, by as much as half.
Print resolution is, as expected, high, ranking in at a solid, unenhanced 1200 x 1200 dots per inch. This extra boost in print quality gives even text documents that extra sparkle that lower end printers lack. Unfortunately, the copy machine falls behind just slightly in resolution, with optional settings of 600 x 600 dots per inch, and 1200 x 600 dots per inch.
Interestingly, the Canon ImageClass MF7460 does lack in one area: special media types. With a maximum paper weight of only 32 lbs, card stock, 3 x 5 cards, and even thick envelopes are completely incompatible with the device. That being said, the unit does include an 80 sheet multipurpose tray to compliment its two 250 sheet standard paper trays, allowing for some degree of versatility.
The Canon ImageClass MF7460 is unique in the world of print/ fax/ scan/ copy machines in that it tries very hard to perform in certain areas high out of its price range and product category. If hardware is your priority over speed, this is the unit for your office.
