If you or someone you know is going to be moving away to university at all in the
near future then there is going to be an awful lot of stuff that they will want to take with them. This will include not only the basic items that will be needed for day to day living but also all of the other things that will help to make their new place homely and assist with settling in. This is clearly going to involve a lot of sorting through things during both the packing and unpacking stages and it helps if everything is packed in some sort of orderly fashion. To help do this, you should really use cardboard boxes for the majority of the packing that is done.
Choosing to pack everything you want to take to university into a box will have a number of advantages for you when it comes to unpacking. The main thing that should be done is that all of your items should be packed with similar things together. Put all of your kitchen and bathroom things in one box, all of your stationery in another and make sure that you clearly label each one so that you know where everything is. When you get to your new university residence, you are not going to necessarily want to unpack everything straight away so it is extremely helpful if you can identify what is in each box so you can easily find things.
Once everything is unpacked, you can simply collapse each box down so that you can keep them for moving out and they wont clutter up your room. You will undoubtedly accumulate a lot of things throughout the year and may not have a place to put everything, you can then use your cardboard boxes to store the things that you don't immediately need. When the time comes for you to move out then you just need to put everything back in whatever box they came from and all will be sorted again.
