Recently, the government issued orders to retailers to compulsorily include information

on every communication between the consumer and the retailer regarding the used battery recycle center. Every retailer is expected to accept unwanted dead batteries from consumers and recycle them at the appropriate battery recycle locations. This has become a norm and now most retailers, both online and offline, provide this facility at free of cost.

Mobile phones and accessory retailers are one of the major sources of batteries. Hence it becomes highly important that these companies take this law more seriously than anybody else. Interestingly, since the law came into force, companies have adhered to the word of the government and have taken proper measures to that effect. These days, almost all the retailers would willingly take back unwanted batteries to recycle them and thus reduce their impact on our environmental system.

Mobile phone batteries are often the most used and recyclable of all electronic materials. Yet, these are the most easily disposed (albeit incorrectly) materials too. This causes excessive damage to the soil and to the ecology of the earth as most of the materials in the batteries are not merely non-biodegradable but also very much hazardous. Apparently, it is the lack of awareness and proper battery recycle locations that have been the major cause of electronic waste dumping. The move that enforces and makes it obligatory for all these retailers to have a proper waste-battery recycling changes this and makes earth a better place.

Mobile phone websites have also come into the picture prominently by informing the customers and clients about the facilities offered in terms of mobile battery recycle and battery recycle center. These companies accept waste, unused, unwanted and dead batteries at specific sites designated to collect them. From here, the batteries are recycled in order to keep them away from becoming an environmental hazard. All the person needs to do is send the batteries. The service is totally free of cost and there are no other formalities from the perspective of the customer who sends the batteries for recycling.
