However, in order to get the best results, it is preferred to use the solution with excess amount of alum in it only. If one wants to make it dry a bit earlier, then the gelatin, even the fish glue or egg white can also be added in the solution of alum to get the quick results.

Once, you are done with the preparation of carmine, do not let it come in contact with the water because it can cause the diffusion as well. It is also believed that higher will be the percentage of cochineal, more better it will be for the preparation of carmine powder, so one must consider it as well during the process of manufacturing the carmine powder.
