Stain Removal Tips.

Never rub spot (stain), this may only cause it to smear and become permanent. Also, doing this will weaken the fiber causing your carpet to wear quicker.

Just using water on the spill will help most spills.


Blot the stain with white paper towels to remove as much of the solution as possible.

Apply detergent solution from a spray bottle.

Blot out the stain and detergent.

A detergent solution can be made of hand soap or dish soap. The combination is one quarter of a teaspoon of detergent to one quart of water. Make sure the soap does not contain bleach.

Large spills can be cleaned up with a wet dry vac or a steam cleaner. Dry as thoroughly as possible.

Always use white towels for cleaning. With colored towels you run the risk of transferring the dye to your carpet.

Always clean up fresh blotches by scraping from the outsidee inward toward the center. This way you will not be extending the soiled area.

Add only enough water to make blotting possible. Alternate between spraying and blotting, never saturating the fabric, until the spot is gone. Blot the spotted (stained) area with white towels dampened with cool water until no more color transfers to the towels.

Reacting immediately to spills and spots before they have time to become semi-permanent stains is the bestoption.Thorough training in spot and stain removal using the wrong techniques and chemicals can set the spot permanently. It is usually best to start with clear water and blot with white cloths, and then move on to try chemicals only if needed from your local stores.

Remove as much of food spills as possible by scraping gently with a spoon or dull knife.

Always follow spot removal with a water rinse to remove the sticky residue from the spotter, which can cause resoiling.

Allow mud to dry completely, then remove as much as possible with a knife, Scrape the hardend mud and then clean the remains with a liquid cleaner.
