Carpet Story 3 - These Boots Were Made to Walk All Over Me

In the last episode, our hero overcame his old arch-enemy Hellspill

, who threatened to destroy the Carpet's clean reputation as a household hero, a hero who provides warmth, beauty and, of course, cushioning powers for all the residents of Homeville. Unable to speak, or even move, our hero could have never done it all on his own, despite all his heroic efforts. Luckily, the residents of Homeville sensed the Carpet's plight and did the right thing - they called in a professional carpet cleaner who was able to remove Hellspill and his evil companions Odorboy and the Stainster from the premises.

Now, in Carpet Story 3, the Carpet faces a deadly new threat from a new enemy, the dreaded Mudfoot. Every rainy season (which in London, of course, occurs from January through December) the evil Mudfoot makes his appearance in homes across the city, threatening even the most posh of digs, his remorseless tracks soiling floors and rugs and unfortunately Homeville has proven to be no exception. One day, as the Carpet lay there blissfully unaware of the impending danger, the front door opened with a creak and a dark figure came lurking in from the raging storm and began unceremoniously tromping across our hero's tethered expanse, leaving black bootprints all over the Carpet's face and grinding dirt into his elegant nape. The Carpet was helpless to react and boiled in impotent rage as the boots kept stomping and grinding, stomping and grinding, until the Carpet finally lost consciousness.

Upon awakening, the Carpet immediately sensed that the danger had passed, that his soiled surface had been thoroughly cleaned and that the entire populace of Homeville were now seated in chairs above him or resting their bums directly on him, admiring his pristine fibers and he would have breathed a happy sigh of relief had he only possessed a mouth. Mumsy promised him that she would never let a mud-booted workman in the living room ever again as all the Homeville residents laughed and patted the Carpet fondly. All was again well in Homeville (for now...).
