I turned from a child who knew nothing about the life to a teenage girl who began to pay attention to her appearance when I became a middle school student. Life seemed to be a little dull in this village, and since I was no longer a child, I lost interest in the old games that I used to play all the time. Sometimes, looking out of the small window of my bedroom and staring at the numerous stars in the dark sky, I might wonder what life would be like outside of our village.

Chance came that our neighbor's granddaughter, who was from a big city, came to spend the summer in our village. Every day, I went to her house, guiding her to some little mysterious places where I had spent my childhood, thus being familiar with. And she would tell me something about the life in a big city. And through her words, I was able to add some details to the map which I had drawn vaguely for the outside world.
The summer vacation was about to end when she invited me to the city and offered to show me around. It was so attempting an invitation that I accepted it at once. The city is so different from our village and life in the city is so colorful. She took me to the cinema, where excellent movies were shown; she took me to different kinds of specialty shops, where all kinds of fashionable goods were on sale; and she also took me to the Cartier jewelry show, where every piece of jewelry displayed was so eye-catching and high in quality. I was totally attracted by the city life, so I made up my mind to study harder so that I could change my life and settle down in the city.
I came back home, my head full of the fashionable clothes and those shining Cartier jewelries. I couldn't help myself wondering how beautiful I might be when I wear a piece of that elegant and luxurious Cartier jewelry, being a woman belonging to the upper class. I told myself that I should work harder so as to earn a comfortable life.
Now, working in a big company, I have realized my dream to live in the city and be a member of those who are able to enjoy a high-qualified life. Sometimes, what you need is a desire which can push you hard toward a certain goal, and then you will be able to change your life to a different stage.About the Author:
