Cartier, Helping Me Go Through
There in the box, which I have carefully preserved in my drawer is a piece of Cartier
jewelry necklace, though passing through a long time, still possess the luster as it used to. And the reason for my keeping it so carefully is more than its value, for it is a testimony between my wife and me.In fact, the necklace was a birthday gift I bought for my wife when she was still my girlfriend. I didn't earn too much money at that time, but after seeing her glancing at the necklace every time we passed that shop window, I decided to buy it and give it a special meaning. It turned out that she really liked it and our relationship was drawn closer.

However, the command came that I was drafted into the army, and though I didn't want to leave my family and my girlfriend; I was unable to avoid it. The moment my girlfriend knew that I was going to the army, she quarreled with me over it, totally unable to accept the reality. In the following days, we didn't talk to each other. The day came that I was to leave, and she finally appeared at the train station, giving me the Cartier jewelry necklace and saying that she would wait for me. I promised her that I would return safe to her.
The time in army was tired for we had to train a lot, suffering cold and heat. Sometimes, I even had the feeling that I was going to die for the training was beyond my strength. But every time I felt the necklace which was hanging around my neck, touching my heart, I kept on going through all the toil and danger of the training.
Finally, I was able to return to my hometown, and the moment I saw her in the train station with my family, I said to myself that this was the woman I would like to spend my rest life with and share my experience with. And I proposed to her the next day with a Tiffany ring and the Cartier jewelry necklace which had always been by my side since she gave me.
She said "Yes", and since then we have been living together and will be forever. And every time I see the necklace, I remember the hard time I went through in the army and the belief the necklace gave me, feeling as if my wife has always been by my side.
