I had a lot of success with popped up maze on a size 8 hook, most of the fish I caught were taken on maze but make sure you pop the bait up of the bottom they seem to respond well to this method.

So, if you are planning a trip to go carp fishing in France I would definitely check out Etang De Villaine, you are almost guaranteed lots of fish and don't forget the average size carp that comes out is 26lb!
