Cats Health Concerns Of Menstruating
A cats health concerns are a big deal and I was a bit worried. My kitten, Cookie, is almost a year old now. I knew the day would come when she would start to go into heat. I had never owned a feline on my own before, but I have grown up with cats my whole life. I guess I have never witnessed the process cats go through because the cats we owned were always spayed or neutered before they even got the chance to go into heat.
So my cats health concerns is about my young cat, cookie, going into heat. I have a lot of concerns about how long I can let her be this way until I come up with the money to be able to get her spayed. I also have concerns on how I can help relieve her in her time of distress.
My cats health concerns also involve her being an indoor cat while in heat. She did grow up on a farm outdoors, and I took her into our home, a smaller apartment. I knew there might be some concerns on if she was going to go completely crazy being cooped up and especially while in heat, but from what I've been observing, she's actually behaving very well from what I've heard. Other people have told me that their cats are completely annoying while in heat.
They meow, howl, and never leave you alone. As for Cookie, even being almost transformed into an indoor cat, is not very vocal at all. She has never howled, only just a few slight meows once in awhile, if not at all. From what I have seen so far is that she becomes extra loving, especially to my brother and boyfriend, which I find absolutely hilarious! She likes to rub up on corners of things such as shelves and walls. She also walks really funny, almost like a waddle.
Also, when you pick her up, she is as stiff as a board.
I guess I am really just wondering how I can help relieve her until I can find a low-cost place. I have called around many vets in the area and so far the best I found was around eighty dollars for the spay plus she will need her shots which will be around twenty dollars a piece as well. I just hate putting this off because my cats health concerns are getting worse, and I know that it must be hard on her to deprive her from her natural needs.
It can also be a little stressful for us because she does not like to leave my boyfriend a lone, and I suppose it can get a little uncomfortable seeing another side of your pet you've never seen before!
Another concern I have is if she will continue to be in heat more frequently if we don't spay her or if she will be in heat for longer periods of time. While she is in heat I give her a lot of attention and pet her lots to try to help calm her, but I cannot really think of anything else to do. We end up locking her out of our bedroom at night because she loves to jump up and off the bed and wake us up, but she does not meow or anything when she is locked out all night. I hate to see her like this, but I just can't afford it right now. Is there anything I can do?
