Causes Of Back Pain: Spinal Stenosis

What is it?

What is it?

Spinal Stenosis is the narrowing of the spinal canal by a piece of bone or disc material.

How it Causes Pain:

This can cause weakness in your extremities as narrowing often results in pressure on the spinal cord and/or nerves. Spinal stenosis can occur in a variety of ways in the spine. Most cases of spinal stenosis occur in the lower back (lumbar spine) and will affect the sciatic nerve, which runs along the back of the leg.

Can it be fixed?

There are various surgeries that can treat spinal stenosis at various degrees, however the pain symptoms associated with spinal stenosis can be treated with specialized minimally invasive procedures that can help patients return to a normal, pain free life, while avoiding open back surgery. One such procedure, the AccuraScope procedure, is the only procedure that can treat spinal stenosis without causing any new scar tissue.

How it can be treated:

With the AccuraScope Discectomy and Neural Decompression, specially trained physicians can visualize these sources of pain using the endoscope, and diagnose and repair problems real-time. The physicians can shrink the disc material away from the sight of compression and remove other impingements that have narrowed the spinal canal with a variety of tools such as a laser.
