. Stress can make you more productive while for most people, stress may lead to anxiety, depression and fatigue. There are basically three types of stress. All these types have a different level of stress treatment. Some types of stress are easier to manage than others. The main types of stress are:

Chronic stress

This is the worst kind of stress. It has the ability to cripple both the mind and body functioning. It hampers the perception of the victim. It makes you feel paranoid and helpless about life. If stress treatment is not administered, the problem can be prolonged for months or even years. Some people are even accustomed to living with chronic stress. They only pay frequent visits to therapists and doctors if the problem becomes unmanageable. Sometimes the stress levels can have fatal impact on the victim in form of stroke. It is therefore to get such a condition under control before it gets worse.

Acute stress


This is a milder kind of stress. It is usually as a result of everyday challenges of life. The more problems you have, the more the stress levels increase. It may result in anxiety disorders, bad headaches or even nausea. Acute stress treatment is less complicated compared to chronic stress. Sometimes all it requires is an adjustment or change in lifestyle. You simply stop engaging in activities that cause you stress. You dont necessary have to visit the hospital to get the problem under control.

Eustress

This is the positive kind of stress usually experienced before a promotion, a big event or when waiting to receive an award. It is the kind of stress that makes a person spring into action. It supplies the adrenaline rush that makes you perform, be motivated and inspired to work.

Family and relationships

It is arguable that the leading cause of stress in our lives is the worry about our families. Our personal relationships form the basic part of our existences. Relationships have both good times and bad times. The rocky times bring stress in our lives when it becomes difficult to resolve them.

Work

The working environment is also indeed stressful. It is quite demanding and sometimes your colleagues and supervisors do not make it any easier for you. The longer you work, the more strain it has in your life both physically, mentally and emotionally.


Personal concerns

One of the leading causes of stress is our inability to be in control of our activities in our daily lives. This is usually a problem associated with perfectionists. They are usually concerned about everything to the detail and when things dont work out the way they envisioned it, then their stress levels increase. Such small activities such as shopping, taking children to school and arriving on time for your job is just among the concerns that contribute so much to stress in our lives.

Other causes of stress in our lives include finances, death, and health amongst other factors. If these are not managed, then the consequence can be detrimental. That is why it is important to get stress treatment immediately before our problems grow beyond our control.
