Is your computer getting extra slow lately? Is it difficult for you to work with

files having large size or work with several programs at one time due to the extra slow speed of your computer? Then this is the best time to upgrade your RAM. Upgrading RAM improves your computers performance; it makes your computer work faster.

Installing RAM in your computer is an easy process, with these few basic steps RAM can be easily installed in your Pc.

Step 1:

First the installer must know the correct configuration of his computer so that he can acquire the appropriate RAM. The configuration of the previously installed RAM and the new RAM should be the same.


Step 2:

Make sure that your computer is completely shut down and is unplugged.

Step 3:

Detach the Peripheral devices that are connected with your PC.

Step 4:

Take out the cover of your computer.

Step 5:

Its important for the installer to ground himself before the installation process; this is done by wearing a grounding wrist strap.

Step 6:

Take out the cards or components that are an obstruction when accessing the RAM.

Step 7:

When removing old memory:

Apply gentle pressure to the plastics clips at both the ends of the slot and push them outward, the RAM will now pop out of the slot.

When handling the RAM avoid touching the gold pins and the memory chips.

There are two types of memory modules:

Dual and Single inline memory modules.

When adding a new memory:

Single inline memory module: insert the memory module in the slot at an angle of 30 degree.

Dual inline memory module: insert the memory module in way that both the memory module and the motherboard are perpendicular to each other.

Step 8:

Ensure that memory sticks are firmly pressed in to the slots apply light pressure if required, gold pins goes down in the slot, also make sure that holes which are on either side of the stick fits in to the clips.

Step 9:

As soon as your stick fits into the slot lock the plastic clips.

Step 10:

For satisfaction try pulling out the memory stick slightly to make sure it is completely locked.

Step 11:

Fit in all the cards and the components that were removed previously.

Step 12:

Now to check whether RAM has been installed successfully or not, attach your hardware devices (mouse, monitor and keyboard) no need replace the cover, switch on your PC.

On your desktop right click My Computer and check your RAM status, if it shows you the right memory amount then your RAM has been installed successfully if its not showing the right memory then try resetting the RAM again in the slot and once again check the memory amount.

Step 13:

Turn off your computer, detach all the hardware devices.


Step 14:

Replace your computers cover and then connect all the devices.

Now your computer is ready to use.
