Fortunately your mom does not need expensive things to make her happy, even a single rose given with a smile will make her the happiest person this mother's day. I'm sure we can do better than the rose; here are some ideas and gifts to use, that are guaranteed to show your mom how much she means to you.
Indulge her
If you decide to spend some money on the gift, here are some great ideas. You can take her out to a spa, so that she can relax the whole day. Otherwise, get her something she has always had an eye for, but would never purchase for herself like an expensive bottle of perfume or shampoo or a piece of jewelry.
Lunch
Take her out for lunch or dinner to her favorite restaurant. Make sure her favorite food is included in the menu. This is not cheap, but it will surely be worth it.
Vacation
Which mom wouldn't love to take a break from her hectic schedule? Get her tickets to a fabulous destination, or take her on a special tour. As long as you are with her to spend some quality time, she will love it.
Gift certificate
If your mom is a bit choosy, the best idea is a gift certificate. Leave it to her to decide what she wants.
Household items
If you are able to spend, get her a dishwasher, a coffee maker or even a vegetable slicer.
Dinner/Plan a picnic
Cooking dinner and making her favorite dish, this may not sound fancy or original. But it still works wonders! Take her out to a picnic so that nobody needs to do the dishes at home. You can go ahead and bake her a cake or a batch of her favorite cookies as well.
Handmade gifts
This could be anything such as a piece of furniture, her favorite photo enlarged, homemade sweets, a personalized coffee mug, a sweater etc. The more personal it is, the better. Mothers like nothing better than to be reminded how special they are to you. Keep your mother's likes and dislikes in mind before starting your project.
Accessories
No woman has enough accessories. Shoes, purses, belts and watches will be useful for every occasion. Get them in her favorite color, and be sure it is something that can be worn everyday.
Working mom
For the working mom, you can get her folders and file-cabinets to keep her papers and documents in order.
Card
Write a nice poem for your mother and gift it. You can easily print out templates online, otherwise make one yourself. Handwritten cards and letters are losing their importance, writing down all your sentiments in the card will make it special.
Flowers
It is hard to find a mom who does not like flowers, they make a beautiful and classic gift on all occasions. Buy you mom her favorite flowers and wrap them up with a pretty ribbon or put them in a vase.
Plants
Get you mom her favorite potted plant, or flower pot. She will have a long supply of her favorite flowers and it will remind her of you every time she sees the plant at your home.
Movies
Is your mom a movie buff? Download all her favorite movies and burn them on a CD, and gift it to her. She will be happy that you remembered her favorite stuff, and have hours and hours of free entertainment. Again, this is inexpensive and easy.
