The Daytona 500 is as patriotic as baseball, so it is important to celebrate this glorious race in the proper manner

. Have other race enthusiasts over to watch the race and cheer on favorite drivers. Before the race begins why not have the party guests show off their talents by playing racing theme party games.

Tire Race is an exciting Daytona 500 party game. Have players roll a tire around a make-shift track in the party area (preferably a large back or front yard). The object of the game is to roll the tire around the track as fast as possible and pass it to the next teammate in line. During the last lap, players must roll the tire to the finish line and grab the checkered flag from the game host, thus claiming a win. If a player should roll past the finish and not grab the flag they do not win until the flag is captured. To add another element to the game, after the 3rd or 4th lap, have players stop at the designated pit stop and eat a hot dog or a small bowl of Jell-O and move on. Guests cannot rejoin the race until the hot dog or food item is eaten.

Tire Toss is another game custom made for a Daytona 500 party. Place a tire on its side and have players throw bean bags inside the hole in the tire. Those who have multiple tires can spread the tires around the party area. To begin, one player must throw the bean bag at the first tire. If that bean bag is made the player now throws the bean bag at the second tire and so on. The guest who can throw all the bean bags consecutively into the tires wins. Make the game more challenging by having players wear a blindfold.

A Balloon Pop Race is another fun game at a Daytona 500 theme party. Place about a dozen or so balloons in a circle a few feet apart from each other. In order to guarantee that the balloons do not roll or blow away, tie the balloons down with small weights. On go, the players must race to each balloon and pop the balloons by sitting on them. The players then goes over to the next balloon and does it again. Time each player and the player who can pop the balloons the fastest wins.
