Celebrities Launch Designer Jewellery Ranges

Famous female celebrities have been busy launching designer jewellery ranges recently.

Pop star and X Factor mentor Cheryl Cole was at London restaurant Nobu to promote Promise, a ring collection for designer jewellery firm de Grisogono in what was her first official public appearance since contracting malaria.

The Girls Aloud singer has worn designer jewellery by de Grisogono on the popular ITV show and previously appeared for the firm at a Cannes party in May where she was paid 250,000 for only half an hour of her time.

Cheryl and de Grisogono designer Fawaz Gruosi were responsible for making the luxury ring which is made of pink gold and blackened silver.

Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts were out in London in support of their band mate as was fellow X Factor judge Louis Walsh.

Ms Cole said: "I've always dreamed of creating a collection of specifically pinky rings. I asked de Grisogono to make my dream come true and together we have designed this first Promise ring."

Meanwhile, Hollywood actress Christina Applegate has designed a necklace to help raise funds for her Right Action for Women foundation, which aims to raise awareness of breast cancer.

The Anchorman star joined forces with jewellery designer Alex Woo to create the necklace in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness month, which is currently running in America.

She told People magazine: "This piece reminds me so much of the roses I made out of ribbons for my friends and family while in the hospital.

"Proceeds from the necklace will help women at high risk for breast cancer get the screenings and testing they need to beat this disease."

Designer jewellery consumers must try not to follow in the footsteps of celebrity DJ Goldie and misplace their treasured trinkets.

The Strictly Come Dancing contestant revealed that he has lost several items of designer jewellery in the past which were worth a small fortune.

He told Now magazine: "I lost a 40,000 gold bracelet in a hotel and a 60,000 Charriol timepiece in a fight in the West End. I've done some pretty mad things and must've lost about 300,000 worth of jewellery."

Goldie is not the only celebrity who has lost valuable designer jewellery while partying, according to the musician.

He told Now: "I remember being with P Diddy at The 10 Rooms and he lost an earring. Whoever found that's probably looking at half a million pounds."

Fashion For Lunch have reported that the latest trend in designer jewellery is animal-themed rings and bracelets.
