Picking up a celebrity perfume can happen in your local supermarket at prices so low you are sure to be able to smell sweet no matter how basic your budget. CLASSIC

Few perfumes have kept selling steadily since their initial release. The ones that have are steeped in history and a have devoted following. Take Chanel No.5 for example - first released in the 1920's, famous fans have included Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe and indeed Coco Chanel herself. It still reigns as a number one bestseller today! Shalimar by Geurlain is even older than No. 5, and it too continues to have devoted followers including Meryl Streep.

DESIGNER

If you want something a bit less popular and perhaps a little newer, then the best option is to take a sniff of some designer perfumes. Usually made by famous fashion houses; designer brands like Dior, Marc Jacobs, Chloe and Tommy Hilfger often have more than one perfume range at a time on release. And if you find one you like, you can most likely expect it will be released in slight variations or limited editions throughout different times of the year - ensuring you will keep interested and coming back for more.
