We all know that celebrity's make a ridiculous amount of money

, some for doing nothing more than hanging out with friends, drinking, and fighting on national television. While it would certainly be nice to be paid 30 million dollars simply to act like an idiot, most celebrities do indeed have a brain on their shoulders (or their financial advisor or agent does at least!). Since a number of celebrities make most of their money due to one specific part of their body, it should come as no surprise that there are health insurance policies tailored just for this purpose.

Ben Turpin was the first person to purchase health insurance for a specific body part. A silent film actor, he was famous for his crossed eyes. As a comedian, he took out a policy on his eyes for $25,000. While it's not known whether or not her did so as a joke or was serious about his investment, the policy was nevertheless a real health insurance policy.

Marilyn Monroe was widely known, particularly in Tinsel Town, for her drug addictions and her resulting erratic behavior. To protect their investment in hiring her for different film roles, movie studios thus took out health insurance policies on her in case her drug use interfered in some way with production. Robert Downey, Jr. was similarly insured against during his time on Ally McBeal.

Dolly Parton may have an amazing voice, but she is also very well known for her very well endowed upper half. Realizing this, she has taken out a health insurance policy specifically on her chest, insuring them for a reported $600,000.

"It's not unusual" to insure your chest hair? That's what Tom Jones evidently thinks, though, as his mound of furry chest hair is insured for a smooth seven million dollars. One does wonder what will happen as he ages, though, and his hair naturally thins.

Bette Davis was famous for her smoky, sultry eyes that drove men crazy and were the envy of almost every woman who saw her. Throughout her acting career, she was well known for this unique feature. While she was indeed a talented actress, many people believed that her eyes were part of the key to her success in the world of film. It would seem then that she would choose to purchase health insurance for her eyes, but this was not the case. Instead she insured her figure against weight gain for $28,000, which was much more money at the time than it is in today's economy.

Gene Simmons, as one of the key band members in the legendary Kiss, is well known for his seemingly erratic and rather irresponsible behavior. It would seem that his advisors would thus recommend that he purchase insurance for any damages or injuries he caused due to his antics, but instead he carries it for his well-known tongue. Insuring his long tongue, a trademark of the band, is not surprising, but what could really happen to a person's tongue?
