At the time of its construction, it was one of the most innovative entertainment frontiers and was among the largest theatres in Asia. Located at the heart of the buzzing capital of Bangkok, the Chalermkrung Royal Theatre is open daily and stages different performances which are centered round Thai history and customs. Its specialty is the Khon' performances; a traditional masked dance of the Southeast Asian country which portrays Thai history, myths and legends. These dances are generally held during the winter season.
