For the news and current affairs careers, the world can be your playground or your battlefield. Getting a good headline story can be risky, and this job is not advisable for the faint of heart. Writers are considered the heart of media, they write and create whatever is seen and said. For those wanting to be broadcasters and newscasters, you need a stern and convincing voice. This is not ideal for those who want to goof off and create a laugh. The news means serious business, so the person in charge of relaying the news should be someone believable.

The world of advertising can be tough and oppressive, and most of the time rejection will be your worst enemy. In advertising you will have only one goal, to make a sale. Advertising can take many forms; you can either work for advertising commercials or print advertising. People who wish to work in the advertising field should be creative and innovative. Commercials help people decide if they will buy or not buy a product being sold.

Getting in the media industry can be hard, and to reach the top many have to start from the bottom. A good way to start is by applying as interns in major broadcasting companies, publishing houses or advertising agencies.
