Chalon Sur Saone Division In Eastern France

Chalon sur Saone is a small division in the Sane-et-Loire department in the region of Bourgogne in eastern France

. It is the largest city of the department. Chalon-sur-Saone is situated in the south of the Burgundy region of France. It is located on the Saone River. It was once a busy port which acted as a local distribution center for local wines which were sent via the river Saone.

It is a former Roman Catholic cathedral located in Chalon-sur-Saone. It was the seat of the Bishop of Chalon. It was declared as a national property of France in 1903. The various parts of the building are as old as 8th century AD.
