Time was when a Facebook user had to put up with the standard "boring" old Facebook layout

. Now a whole bunch of Facebook-layout servicesmost if not all of which are free!has made fixing up your Facebook account a snap. PageRage is one of these services and it's a pretty good one, or at least it would be if it could be used by more peoplemore on which below.

Well, actually, you don't get to tweak your Facebook profile itself when you use PageRage; you can either select a preexisting layout or make a new one that can then be "layered" right on top of your Facebook profile. This layout just sits on top of your profile and you can change it at any time. This makes it really simple and easy to useno CSS or HTML coding expertise required at all! One just has to install the Yontoo Layers plugin (using the link on the website) into one's browser, and then one is free to select from the really wide range of themes, colors, styles and more that are available, all for free. Whether one has a political agenda and wants one's browser to reflect one's advocacy, or simply wants something that suits one's temperament, there's bound to be something in the range of options offered by PageRage.

But just in case there isn't, the more diehard/hardcore Facebook users out there can rejoice in the fact that PageRage also offers a PageRage background feature that lets users upload pictures of their choice (well, given certain limitations such as picture size and quality and so on). This alone puts PageRage ahead of many of its competitors.

Quibbles? Just one for now: the PageRage background feature works only on IE or Firefox, not on Safari or any other browser, at least for now. But that seems to be a small price to pay for PageRage's ease of use and nifty themes and options.
