Once upon a time, there was a littler girl who lived in a poor country alone. In order to earn money, her parents were far away from home and asked her grandfather to take care of her when they left. At the very beginning of time, the little girl lead a happy life because her grandfather loved her so much, providing her the best thing in the world. She had owned a happy childhood, during this period, her parents had never come back to see her.
But her grandfather is at such a high age, after taking care of her for several months and had passed the world forever. Due to she lived in such a poor country, there is no way but the letter for her to contact with her parents, unfortunately the postman has lost his life in a heavy snow when he was posting the letters once time, so there is no idea in the little girl's mind on how to contact her parents. Nobody here can help her.
In the above story, the girl got no information from her parents due to there is no way for them to have communication. Her parents don't know what has happened to her, and the girl also had no information whenever her parents were, in another world, they are relatives but they even like strangers in the world. After several months, the little girl left the world after the step of her grandfather with nobody knowing in the world.
Let us have a suppose, if the girl still lives in the poor country and her parents still left her far away. But there is not letters but phone for them to have connection, actually this will be more efficient and timely, when her grandfather died, she could call her parents for that or ask somebody else for help. Maybe some of her other relatives will take care of the girl, she shall continue with her happy life.
But I think this is not reliable because the heavy snow may block up the signal of the phone, and there will be no way for the girl to pay the telephone rate. Another suppose, if there is a laptop for the girl, she can make her parents informed of what has happened to her timely through QQ or MSN, and her parents can pay the money for her. If once a time, her parents did not pay the money for her or there is no information of them, she may guess that there is something wrong with her parents and ask other relatives for help. In this way, they just kept each other informed and feel that they are just living beside each other, although they are in different places.
In my opinion, this is the changes in the changing world. With the development of modern society, there will be more and more information that we have to learn about the world. For everyone who lives in such a world need to keep up with those changes. In traditional way, we get the information from our friends, the newspapers, or TV. But such ways are not suitable in this society due to its fast changes, sometimes it is out of our ability to get the information we need in time. Under such situation, a modern computer is the best friend, especially a laptop will do that for us with high efficiency.
