Locate the starter
Location of starter varies according to vehicle. Locate the start position in your vehicle. It may be located on the drivers side. It is an eight inch long tube with five to six inch in diameter with two electrical and one fixed connection.
Detach the Connections
Now is time to remove the connections. You can remove the electrical connections with the help of hand by pulling them gently but for mounting connection you need an appropriate wrench or ratchet. Remove the electrical connections and mark the cables with indication labels; which help you to connect the cables with right connectors later. Now take a wrench or ratchet and remove the mounting connection. It is bit hard to unfasten this connection sometimes, be sure not to apply too much force lest you would damage it.
Once you have done, take the old starter out.
Installation (New Starter)
Once you have done with removing the old damage starter, take a new starter and replace it. Make sure that you have installed the new starter at right place and correctly. Connect all the electrical cables in perfect order to avoid any major damage to your engine. Fix the mounting connection back with the help of wrench.
Reconnect the negative terminal cable to negative connector of the battery.
Verification
In the end recheck all the connections once again and when you are sure that everything is in its perfect place, try to start the engine. The smooth starting of the engine will verify the worth of your work.
