Changing My Mindset Towards Computers

I am still getting used to the huge amount of information available on the world wide web

. With tools like e-discovery software and more, I have been able to delve deeper into topics of interest as well as discover new areas of intrigue. Through websites and software, I have greatly enjoyed expanding my knowledge of all sorts of topics.

I wasn't one of those people who jumped on the internet bandwagon right away. In fact, it took me years to get my own personal computer in my home. Even when my friends and adult kids had laptops and smart phones, I held out.

Maybe it is because I am a lifelong book lover that I was first unsure about trying modern digital technology. I guess I had this idea that computers might somehow mar my love of the written, printed word. On the contrary, I have found they hardly overlap in my life.

It was my youngest daughter who helped me when I finally decided to give the internet a try. She and I were both pleasantly surprised at how quickly and easily I picked up computer and internet skills. I chock my fast learning up to the fact that I waited to learn until I really wanted. Where there is a will there is surely a way and that is the mindset that I approached all this new technology with. I knew I could learn it and learn it well if I put my mind to it.

About a year later, I decided I wanted my own laptop so I could browse the internet without having to go the library or my daughter's house. She is a online shopping genius and had the perfect laptop delivered right to my door.

Since she helped me set it up, I have become quite involved in pursuing information and education online. The number and variety of resources about all sorts of topics is endless! I could be online all day and still have much more availablet o learn. I have discovered new interestes but have also had the luxury of exploring lifelong passions in more depth.

Social networking and email were not my first priority when I got online for the first time. Rather, I was interested in what information and education I could track down. Since those early days, I have an email account and use it to keep in touch with people all over the world. Social networking, too, has helped me maintain relationships with old friends, distant family members and strangers who share my interests.

What has been taking up my time recently online is looking for interesting software and program downloads. Ther eis so much to learn ou there and e-discovery software is just one of the many ways to access it. Though I took my own slow path to enjoying modern technology, I have come to love and appreciate its impact in my life.
