Charitable And Environment-friendly: The British Empty Cartridge Recycling Project

Recently, Britain has introduced the empty cartridge recycling projects

, providing consumers and businesses with a more convenient way to recycle empty cartridges. Refresh Cartridges, British printing supplies provider, has cooperated with the UK Department of International Trees Foundation. The profits derived from this cartridge recycling project will be donated to charity.

The data show that, in 2006, a total of 120 million ink cartridges and toner cartridges were sold in Europe, but only 25% of them were recovered for recycling.

In fact, on one hand, it causes harm to the environment, on the other hand, it is economically wasteful. As these supplies of raw materials contain petroleum, when abandoned for landfill, they will damage the ecological environment. More important, these supplies could have been recycled and become renewable again.

Therefore, Refresh Cartridges collaborated with a large printing supplies recycling business. The enterprise has recycled about 2,500 tons of printing supplies up to now, rescuing them from being buried as waste.

Chris Holgate, director of Refresh Cartridges, said: Our enterprise has focused considerable emphasis on environmental protection and has been committed to reducing our carbon footprint. With this new project, our environmental commitment will expand. We are able to prevent limited resources from being buried together as well as from which funds can be achieved for trees planting, to further protect the environment.

All income obtained from the project will be donated to the British International Trees Fund. It will be used to support trees planting for the United Kingdom and the world and the protection of forests.
