Evolution Theory

Ever since the publication of Charles Darwin's book The Origin of Species the topic of Evolution has been a hotly debated topic. Unfortunately many myths and misinformation have surrounded the topic from the start. To this day many people think Evolution is nothing more than a gradual change over time.

Darwin believed in much more than change over time. His hypothesis stated all species descended from a common ancestor. Furthermore, he put forth that all differences within a species could be explained by descent with modification. His theory of Natural Selection by Survival of the Fittest leads to the inevitable conclusion of Creation without a Creator. Removing a God from the equation of the origin of life was a major goal of Darwins. Take his conclusions to their reasonable ends, and some disturbing ideas start to emerge.

By keeping a Creator out of the equation and relying only on Natural Selection and Survival of the Fittest, two horrifying conclusions must be realized. First, slavery would have to be seen as natural, and asjust a stronger race taking advantage over a lesser one. Eugenics would also be acceptable because eliminating the weak, poor or handi-capped would be beneficial to the race. Slavery and Eugenics would be normal and tolerable if you align yourself to Darwin's theories.

When you keep out the presence of a Divine Hand in the process of life, you're pretty much left with only a variation of Humanism or Materialism. To most people this view is quite an ugly opinion of life. Darwin's other book on Natural Selection, Descent of Man, is about applying the Natural selection and survival of the fittest process to humans. The obvious results about slavery and eugenics are why it's usually ignored or minimized. Charles Darwin himself was a passionate abolitionist, but the controversial ideas his theories pushed were promoted or even instituted by malevolent people throughout history (Hitler, Stalin, Margaret Sanger). The obvious conclusions following Darwins theories ended up discrediting his views among the people who actually took the time to read his books. If the theories are so good, why misinform and lie about them?
