Charles Ogletree: Harvard University Scholar
Charles Ogletree began his education by earning both a Master and a Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University
. He was awarded and is currently the Jesse Climenko Professor of Law Chair at Harvard.
Charles Ogletree has been a Professor of Political Science, and is currently Faculty Fellow Emeritus at the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard.
Professor Ogletree is interested in ensuring that Constitutional Law is guaranteed to all citizens, and ensuring that the way laws are set forth currently for all Americans fits the bill. Ogletree is a prominent member of the Harvard community, author of several books, and even began his career as a Washington DC Public defender.
Professor Ogletree also served as lawyer for Anita Hill during the Clarence Thomas scandal. He also holds honorary doctorates from several prestigious universities, including the University of Miami School of Law. He puts integrity and emphasis into the interpretation of the Constitution as part of his teaching style, and ensures that he correctly explains to each student the function and meaning of each bill. Ogletree is said to be an excellent teacher. It makes perfect sense that he would become part of the prestigious staff of Harvard.
In addition to teaching the Constitution and helping students understand each US bill, Ogletree is Co-Chair of the Reparations Coordinating Committee. This is a group of law professionals who are research a reparations lawsuit that would benefit people who descended from African Slaves. Ogletree is very interested in Civil Rights, and pursuing the liberties of all Americans via interpreting the Constitution and following the letter of the law under which it was written.
Ogletree has also won several awards throughout his career. His heavy focus in Academics and teaching makes him an excellent addition to Harvard's law staff. He will surely continue to educate students to pursue their interests and follow the Constitution in the best way possible.
Ogletree has been a great teacher and inspiration to many Harvard students during his years at Harvard. Truly a professor who cares about students and adds to the legal community as a great mind is a wonderful example to budding lawyers of all kinds. As a professor who cares about students and works to ensure that they follow the letter of the law in all future proceedings, Charles Ogletree is an inspiration to many. He surely deserves the title of Professor Emeritus, and will no doubt continue to serve the Harvard community in an inspirational way - as a leader and a professor.
