Chase The Tail... Haven't We All?
Life is a round and round conversation that never ceases to amaze me
. You can talk about a subject to a person, with eyes open wide, only to find out later that not one of your words was heard. Listened to, maybe, but not heard... hmm, I don't know. Sounds familiar enough. Round and round conversations with ourselves has become, in my case, a regular monologue. One sided monologue as it seems in body can often seem like quite a conversation in the mind.
That little voice that tells us right from wrong. That "will" that lets us down at the slightest indication of an easier way.
Waking up in the morning with a high fresh new voice of health & fitness motivation, can often sink and deepen down low, as the smell of baked goods smacks us in the face as we walk past that deli in the morning on the way to work or school. We might be walking at the time and get pulled into buying that glazed donut or that egg on a bagel. The calories burned by running or by that early treadmill and elliptical workout will soon become a distant memory.
Ah, the calorie intake and out take may often feel like a good "old tail chase". See that dog chasing his tail round and round. Having that scratching conversation physically as we do with our own bodies. Having to scratch that addictive pull which twirls us round and round. Never reaching our goals in health, fitness or with our achievements.
Do not worry. Each day we are given the choice to start a new conversation. Each day we are given the chance to break the pattern of forever chasing the tail.
Take a Musical Health break. At 118 beats per minute move to the beat by walking, running or doing any cardio activity you might choose. Chase the Tail!
Stay well and as always...
Never Stop Movin'!
