Since the original which was made for Pope John Paul II there have been several variations all for different purposes in mind. During the Papal visit made by the Pope in 1987 in America a pair of Mercedes 230 Gs were flown to Washington DC to be further modified by the Secret Service. The Popemobile or variations of it are one of the most recognisable and unique chauffeur driven cars in the world today.
