So you want to get you or your children a BMX? Good for you. It's a great sport and provides hours of healthy fun, entertainment and excitement, but not all of us have hundreds of pounds to spend on the ultimate riding machine. Lots of people try and search for a great deal on a cheap BMX, but finding a decent bike at a bargain price can end up being pretty challenging. First things first. You need to do a bit of research so you know what type of bike you are looking for. Once you have a profile of your ideal bike, you have a target to aim at. Then you need to consider what you are going to use the bike for. If you just want to nip around town on it, then it's going to be much easier to find a cheap BMX. If your requirements are more specialist and you want to enter races or learn tricks and stunts, finding a BMX at a bargain price is going to be quite a bit tougher.

The first place to start is second hand shops and the free ads. If you just want to ride around from A to B, this might well pay dividends with a solid if unspectacular bike at a decent price.

If you are planning on hitting the race track or the skate park, you're going to have to try a little harder to find your dream bike. It's probably best to try out specialist stores. You might get lucky and find there is a sale on or if you're brave enough, you might want to haggle and see if you can grab yourself a discount that way. If you can't find what you want on the high street, try online retailers who might offer better prices.
