Cheap Designer Clothes- Optimize Your Thrift Store Experience
So, have you finally figured out your neighbors little secret? Yes, I am talking about Kathy. For years you have been peaking out of your window watching Kathy as she runs off to work sporting designer fashions and wondering? Hmm, how can she afford Ann Taylor, BCBGMaxAzria and Ralph Lauren designer labels? In this economy, how can any middle class woman continue to dress in those "expensive" designer fashions? Well girlfriend,I know Kathy's secret! Those clothes that look so expensive are actually not expensive at all. Yes, they are authentic. However, they are "cheap" designer clothes. She shops at the local GoodWill! Guess what? So do I and many other middle class divas that are determined to dress sharply while maintaining our middle class status. Can I show you how? You bet ya..
To be successful at thrift store shopping you'll need some coaching. So, pay close attention.
First: Make a list of the GoodWill stores, Salvation Army stores and any other thrift store in your neighborhood. Also, add to your list stores that are closer to the "inner city" or downtown areas. If you live in the burbs, these areas may not be familiar to you. But, we need our list to be complete because we don't know where the largest deposits of cheap designer clothes may be hiding. You have your list and now it is time to make a few phone calls. Call these stores and ask about their selections. Calling will save you from driving around town only to be disappointed by your findings. Some stores may have a huge selection of designer labels and others may not. Refine your list based on your inquiries. As a result, you should have an awesome list of stores with an abundance of cheap designer clothes for your choosing.
Second: Google for a list of designer labels. Before you go racing out the door with your list of stores in hand, I need you to make your designer list. You'd be surprised at how many designer labels exist that you have never heard of and might be passing by at the thrift stores. So, google A-Z designers for a complete list of the most popular designer labels.
Third: Go shopping! Yep, it's time to visit the thrift stores on you list. Hey, do you have your list of designer labels in your purse? Great, you are all set. Now, you must arrive early. In this case, the early diva gets the $15.00 Ann Taylor dress. O.k?? Don't be discouraged if you don't find tons of cheap designer clothes on your first day out. The cool thing about thrift stores is that they restock several times a week. So, if you didn't find that Ralph Lauren blazer that you were looking for on Monday, try again on Tuesday.
Hey, now you and Kathy can go hunting for cheap designer clothes together! Have fun. It was great hanging out with you.
