But, how many of you actually take care to make in-depth comparisons. At the most, you would be logging on to some online resource which provides the fare comparison data to you.

So, how much cheap are the cheap international air tickets in real? This is a question which does not find a definite answer and the passengers have to check their budget and flexibility of flight schedule to make the booking. After all, the passengers who travelled on flights of lesser air fare last year would be travelling this year as well. If the IATA air traffic statistics are anything to go by, then the air traffic has seen an upward trend in the past few years even as the cheap flights fares have risen. Of course, there has been a period of worldwide recession when the business travel on the premium segment has dipped but this has not been the case with the low cost carriers.

Cheap flights are searched for but there is nothing much which the person can do beyond a point. This brings out that the so called cheap or low-cost air tickets are actually a perception of the people. If the prices are high, the airlines will have reasons to substantiate it. It is another matter whether those reasons are tenable or not. Passengers can only make choices of airlines to travel on but they do not have direct say in matters of pricing. Market conditions, factors of demand and supply and the logic of a few people in the airlines would decide what you have to cough out in the end.
