Be it as it may, the garage door industry has evolved over time when it was first introduced at the early 20th century. Garages were first woodsheds or work sheds built for storage space at the turn of the century. Often these garages would carry hunting and sharpening tools, perhaps even guns, cartridges and generally things that a wife would not want in the home but was necessary. When cars were introduced, these work sheds were transformed into car garages to protect the automobile most especially during the winter months. Gradually, these garage doors which were opened manually and were heavy evolve into light weight PVC made apertures which could be operated with the use of a clicker.

Nowadays, there is a throwback to some old school original all wood garage doors since those made at the early part of the 20th century were done in hard wood. These garage doors are sometimes made of a single piece of hardwood which is then recycled to a precious dining table or conference room table. It's funny how cheap garage doors can be transformed to beautiful one piece dining table tops.
