When I asked him about it, he said it was a cheat. So, in essence, a cheat is a code that empowers a player with additional skills to beat others in the game.

Of course these cheats rob the real fun of the game as the player does it on the basis of help from the cheat, and not because of his own efforts. If he resorts to cheats every time he plays, he will ultimately lose his interest in the game and instead of improving upon his skills, he will remain stuck at his performance level.
