who would like to make a bit of extra money from the misfortune of others. Dread diseases are no exception to this rule. There are a lot of charlatans out there that are peddling some kind of miracle cure for things like cancer and diabetes and HIV/AIDS. If you are afflicted with one of these conditions then you need to know how to spot the fraud so that you do not get taken in and potentially endanger your life. This article is going to take a look at HIV fraud.
What is HIV fraud?
Fraud is defined as Wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain. As such, HIV fraud would be the sale and promotion of any item that claims to be able to diagnose, treat or even cure HIV/AIDS when it is not able to do so and has not be tested to the required levels by the relevant authorities and has not been proven to be safe to use for the use it is being used for.
Some warning signs
There are a few things that most HIV/AIDS fraud items will have in common that will help you to pick them out and avoid them. If you are tempted to try any product that makes any of these claims of possesses any of the following characteristics, do not! They are very likely to be fraudulent products.
Claims of cure or guaranteed prevention of infection: Although modern medicine has been searching for a cure since the virus first reared its head no cure has yet been found. Any product that claims to be capable of curing HIV/AIDS is fraudulent. There is also not guaranteed method of prevention other than total abstinence from all activities associated with the spread of the virus.
Claims to cure a wide range of problems: all effective and legitimate medications that are approved by the relevant authorities are specifically designed to target a specific bacteria or virus and none will make a claim of being able to cure a wide range of conditions caused by unrelated microorganisms. Claims of a miraculous cure are also a trademark of the fraudulent cure.
No scientific proof of success: Most of the fraudulent cures will be backed up by personal testimonials of individuals who have tried the product and had it work for them. This is not sufficient evidence that the product does in fact work. It is too easy to create fraudulent testimonials to back up your fraudulent product.
