Perhaps one of the most highly anticipated mobile phones set to be launched in the first quarter of 2010 is the Nokia 6700 Classic Gold Edition. It is set to follow the legacy of the extremely popular Nokia 6700 Classic, which remains to be one of the top selling units of all time. After all, not everyone wants to have a phone that has a fancy camera, or a QWERTY keyboard. Some people just want a basic phone that covers all the necessities, functions well, and looks good. The Gold Edition takes things one step further by targeting fashion-conscious mobile phone users who love having accessories that are sure to turn peoples heads. No doubt at it the Gold Edition is definitely a head-turner with its sleek design and shiny gold cover. What the Gold Edition Looks Like When talking about the appearance, there is not much difference between the Nokia 6700 Classic and the Gold Edition. The specifications are the same, which is 4.32 x 1.77 x 0.43 inches. That just goes to show how slim this mobile phone is, since it is even slimmer than its predecessor, the Nokia 6300 (which measures at 0.46 inches), or the Samsung Ultra S (which measures at 0.5 inches). Both the Classic and the Gold Edition has a 2.2 TFT display that has a decent resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. The screen, which features 16 million colour support, has impressive sunlight legibility, which means that although there are reflections on the screen that appear when the phone is under direct sunlight, these are unobtrusive and you can still read the screen easily. The main difference which sets the Gold Edition miles apart from the way the Classic looks is the 18k solid gold plating on this phone. The shiny, deluxe gold colour is sure to dazzle everyone. What the Gold Edition Does The Gold Edition pretty much has the same features that the Classic has. It sports a notable 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash. The interface takes only a second or so to focus in good lighting conditions, and it can save a picture in about three seconds. That means youll be ready to shoot a picture every four or five seconds. Since this is a midrange phone and is not meant to compete with top of the line models, the video capture capability of the Gold Edition is not that impressive. Although the maximum resolution is 640 x 480 pixels, it only supports 15 frames per second. Video clips taken using this phone are okay to share on the internet, but you might get disappointed if you try to watch them in full screen. How the Gold Edition Surfs the Net It uses the latest edition of the popular S40 interface. It also has a WebKit-based browser to make your internet experience a lot more interesting. In order to keep up with modern standards, it brings fast 3G connectivity with either HSUPA 2.0 Mbps or HSDPA 10.2 Mbps support. Of course, you must always remember that in reality, there are so many factors that could affect your internet experience, such as signal strength or network coverage. Over all, the Nokia 6700 Classic Gold Edition is worth its price tag, especially if you love showing off. About the Author:
