Cheerleading is originally an American phenomenon. This is that type of activity which combines elements of various techniques. The cheerleader performance bears resemblance to dance, acrobatics, and jumps. The teams of cheerleaders are organized to support a college/university sport team, to participate in competitions for cheerleaders, to make a sport game a real spectacular show. There are three bodies which supervise cheerleaders teams. They are: the Universal Cheerleaders Association, the United States All Star Federation, and the National Cheerleaders Association.

The World Fame of Cheerleading

This kind of team activity began to spread all over the world just at the end of the twentieth century. It happened because in 1997 cheerleaders competitions were broadcasted by Entertainment Sport Programming Network. Nowadays cheerleading is quite popular in many countries and the number of its admirers increases every day.

The Task of Cheerleading

Cheerleading is very profitable and advantageous for educational establishments. It is a substantial part of a college/ university image, and academic and sport achievements and a strong cheerleading team are essential part of a university/college prestige. Cheerleading advertize a sport team and, as a consequence, an educational establishment.

It attracts spectators and fans to sport gyms and stadiums, popularizes sport, physical training, and a healthy way of life. Cheerleaders mollify aggressive fans and create a healthy atmosphere in a gym. They rule fans emotions, support sport teams, and appear as a female face of a team.
