Undoubtedly, Chevrolet Captiva is a luxurious, handsome and stylish model. But it is soon going to get a complete design update in the year 2011. The facelift Captiva will have a wide 2-part grille in the front along with a newly shaped hood. The headlamps of the model have also been redesigned. The redesigned hood will also have a totally new range of engines. The present 2.0-litre turbodiesel will be replaced by the new 2.2-litre unit which will be able to produce around 163PS. The same figure may fall in terms of the Indian auto market and it will be re - estimated for the Indian fuel. As earlier, the new engine will be driving the front wheels or all four. A six-speed automatic transmission will also be used for the Indian market. The other features of the new Chevrolet Captiva will include electronic stability control, hill-start assist, braking assist and traction control. Apart from these standard features, the new Captiva will also be seen with a redesigned interior. The front fascia of the facelifted Captiva will be flowing into the passenger and driver doors and this will give the occupants the feeling of a cockpit. The backlighting of this new model will now be ice blue which will be similar to that in Chevrolet Cruze. It is being expected that the new 2011 Captiva will be available for sale in the second half of the coming year.
