Chicago Bears Tickets - A Look At The Team's Secret Weapons

The Chicago Bears are poised to make an impressive turnaround in the 2010 season

. Last season was their first with new (and proven) quarterback Jay Cutler, but the team still finished third in the NFC North with a record of 7-9. The Bears made sweeping changes during the offseason, and one of the most major was the addition of new offensive coordinator Mike Martz. Martz's offensive system-which saw success with QB Kurt Warner when Martz was the head coach of the St. Louis Rams-heavily favors the pass, meaning that more weight will fall on Cutler.

The success of Martz's system, though, needs more than just Cutler's strong arm and quick decisions skill. Former Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy pointed out this fact during an interview with ESPN 1000. Dungy said, "People don't realize [the Rams] had Kurt Warner, but they also had Marshall Faulk and Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt and guys who understood the system as well. The receivers have to know what's going on." Luckily, the Bears have been fortifying their WR corps with young talent for the last couple seasons, a fact not lost on fans with Chicago Bears tickets who saw them live last season. Below is a list of the top weapons.

Devin Hester: Hester first rose to fame as an awe-inspiring kick returner in his early years with the Bears. In 2008, he attempted to make the transition to a wide receiver after inking a lucrative new contract. Last season, he had a career-high 57 receptions for 757 yards and three touchdowns. The Bears have mentioned they plan on utilizing him both as a kick returner and receiver in 2010.

Johnny Knox: The Bears picked up Knox in the fifth round of the 2009 NFL Draft from Abilene Christian, and he has already far exceeded expectations. Last season, he had 57 receptions for 527 yards and five touchdowns. His efforts led to his selection to the Pro Bowl, and his chemistry with Cutler is undeniable. He should only be better with his rookie year behind him.

Juaquin Iglesias: The Bears' 2009 draft class turned out to be full of talent at wide receiver, and third-round draft pick Juaquin Iglesias added another top threat. Iglesias didn't see much action during the 2009 season, but the Oklahoma WR is expected to contribute more during the 2010 season.

Earl Bennett: Bennett is in his third season with the Bears, and he showed himself as a solid weapon during 2009. He started all but one game and had 54 receptions for 717 yards and two touchdowns. He also has a connection with Cutler because they both played college football at Vanderbilt. Bennett is also utilized as a top punt returner.

Rashied Davis: Davis is the veteran of the bunch, entering his sixth season with the Bears. Davis seems to have transitioned to a kick-return specialist, but he also has potential to add depth to the Bears' wide receiver corps. Last season, he had five receptions for 35 yards.

Devin Aromashodu: Aromashodu is perhaps the biggest surprise of the bunch, emerging as quite a threat at the end of the 2009 season. He also seems like a favorite target for Cutler. Last year was his second with the Bears, and he also spent two unremarkable seasons with the Indianapolis Colts. In 2009, he had 24 receptions for 298 yards and four touchdowns.
