Chicago Cubs, Am I starting to like them?

Chicago Cubs, Am I starting to like them?

When I was a kid, I really hate baseball. For me it was a very boring sport not unless somebody hits for a home run. I was able to have this mindset with me not until yesterday, when I was able to watch a live game.

I am a Chicago native, and I grew up in the city watching the Chicago bulls shutting up their opponents at big margins almost every night. Of course the team that I am referring to was the team led by the best basketball player ever lived, who else none other than Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan was so talented that he can do almost everything on the court. He and the entire team really brought the city to the highest level of its economic upheaval during those times.

As oppose to basketball, baseball didn't bring any excitement in Chicago from the time that they have started up to this time. There weren't any great players from the Chicago team over the decades making the sport boring and a bit non profitable for its owner and for the Chicago City as well.

However, my perspective changed when I was able to watch their practice session and their games recently. I have a high school friend who happens to be a Chicago Personal Trainer and a part of the Chicago Cubs team as well invited me to watch their practice. From there on, I realized that as a Chicago native, I should support every team that Chicago has.

On their home court, I was able to meet the entire team. I learned that all of them have a personal trainer Chicago native to guide them with their fitness concerns. From there on I saw how much effort these guys are putting just to achieve a good record. So from there on, I was able to appreciate the hard work of these people, regardless of their loosing record or poor attendance of audience. So, just yesterday, when they battled the New York Yankees, I showed my support by watching the game. I was so happy when a Chicago player hit a home run. And the best part of that homerun is that I was the one who got the ball. Lucky right? And it didn't ended there coz the cubs won the game.

What a day! I love baseball now..
