Big things are happening in the auto industry. Following the recession, we saw market anarchy like never before. Part of it was spurred on by dropping auto sales, which I suppose you can attribute to the slowing economy, but Chicago Hyundai Genesis dealers have still been seeing rising numbers. The Big Three put themselves in a pretty awkward situation, which left the door open for other brands to needle their way into the melee. While the Big Three are certainly back in action and conforming to the new industry standard of the small car, it's not exactly a surprise to see that other prominent brands, especially ones that didn't exactly hold leadership roles in the market, are on the up and up. Among those are Hyundai, who saw record sales from spin-off brand Kia as a result of the slowing economy. Kia models are dependable and efficient, but the real pull is the fact that they are moderately priced. Riding the wings of Kia, Hyundai has been able to establish itself as a legitimate market player over the past few years. It's no wonder Chicago Hyundai Sonata dealers are seeing big gains.

To help solidify the great position Hyundai has found itself in, the sales numbers from the brand have propelled it into the top five market producers. Chicago Hyundai Genesis drivers have played quite a role in establishing the brand as a contender, and the sales numbers have skyrocketed a full 17 percent this year alone. Kia sales were also up a solid 9.7 percent after posting the record sales of 2009. In the US market, Hyundai and Kia are on par to become the number six overall producer in terms of volume. Hyundai is using its momentum to build up its US presence, manifested in a new production headquarters located in Fountain Valley, CA. The new facility will run the company about $150 million, but that's just pocket change if Hyundai continues down the same path it has been over the course of this year. The company already has a prominent Kia production facility located in West Point, GA. And that isn't the only component of Hyundai's US presence; Hyundai itself has an enormous production facility in Montgomery, AL. For Chicago Hyundai Sonata dealers, the new facility will function as another sign that the brand is establishing itself as a new leader.

Part of the momentum we're seeing out of the brand is a direct result of valuable new additions to the Hyundai lineup and rising stars that are really gaining steam. Chicago Hyundai Genesis drivers are carting around in one of the new big sellers, while Chicago Hyundai Sonata drivers are pushing it to the max with a popular member of the Hyundai team. Regardless of what exactly is propelling the new dynamic, Hyundai is definitely making steps to establish itself as a permanent force in the driving industry. Without the help of Kia, who knows where the brand would be today. Luckily, Kia was there to supplement the transition.
