Child Abuse: Types Causes And Prevention

Child abuse is a prominent form of domestic violence

. It is defined as emotional, physical and sexual mistreatment with children. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States defines child mistreatment as a series of acts that cause harm to a child in any for. Child abuse may occur at a kid"s home, schools and other outdoor surroundings that children interact with. Education law is being framed in various countries of the world to prevent this kind of domestic violence. Kid"s abuse is of four types neglection, emotional abuse, physical abuse and sexual abuse:

1)Neglection: This kind of kid"s abuse involves underestimating the basic needs of a kid. Take for example kids need good food for a healthy body yet their parents or other elders may not give good food purposely.

2)Emotional abuse: Amongst all forms of child abuse emotional abuse seems the hardest to define. In this kind of abuse the kid id tortured mentally by excessive criticism, destroying his personal belongings, torturing or killing his favorite pet, putting excessive demands and using abusive words against him/her. This kind of abuse also involves humiliating the kid in front of his friends and school fellows. Emotional abuse are done to a kid by his family members or teachers.

3)Physical abuse: Nearly every kid in this world might have faced physical abuse during sometime in his life. Physical abuse involves aggression of physical type done on a child by an adult. Inflicting serious physical injuries on the child"s body by excessive beating is an active form of physical abuse on children. Adults and teachers say that they assault kids to bring a sense of discipline among them. This concept is ok to some extend however some adults purposely beat kids and make their body vulnerable. This kind of physical abuse should be prevented. Many nations around the world have framed laws through which kids can protect themselves from physical abuse.

4)Sexual abuse: Child sexual abuse involves sexual exploitation of a child by an adult person. Showing of genitals to a kid, displaying pornography in front of a kid, touching a kid with a feeling of sexual stimulation and making actual sexual contact with a child are the chief forms of child abuse.

Causes of Child abuse:

It has been found that those parents who quarrel with another and abuse each other are found to abuse their kids in physical or emotional way and they do not feel guilty of doing so. For this reason family specialists advise parents to maintain cordial relations with each other for sake of their children.

Prevention of child abuse:

Child abuse and other forms of domestic violence can be prevented by forming a supportive group structure that has nice parenting skills. Adults like parents and teachers play an important role in the early life of their kids. These persons should understand that stern and harsh behavior with kids won"t pay them well in the long run.
