Children Need A World Of Their Own And Make Sure That It Is Filled With Positivity

There is a sea difference among the way we grew up and the way our children are growing up

. Our generation grew up mostly in joint and undivided families where there were numerous cousins of similar age to play with. There were garden and yards for playing and we could play football tournaments by creating teams in the home itself. However, that has changed a lot and today the children are living completely different lives than that of their parents.

Todays children of different ages are exposed to multiple sources of information from the television, the internet, the newspaper and the journals. They have to assimilate various kinds of information and news and try to make meaning out of those. The information may include that of national and international news, sports, finance, current affairs, education, entertainment industry, cultural affairs etc. there are loads of information and not all are positive and suitable for the children. Still the children are exposed to those and have to make meaning according to their age and sensibility. Even they are exposed to different types of behavior and conduct of their peers in the school who are from diverse socio economic back ground. However, in spite of all these the children have their inherent qualities, are mostly positive and love to create and live in their own world. As parents we should keep tab on the inputs they get as well as the world that they create around them. Irrespective of the socio economic conditions and the current international scenario, the children should retain their positivity and be optimist. While most children are positive, some have more tendency of falling prey to the negativity in the surrounding.

So, we should always strive to fill the world of the kids with positive affirmations and positive motifs. In a loving manner, they should be taught the age old values like honesty, love, care, happiness, tolerance and creativity. When they start learning these and appreciate the value of these in their lives, will they be true human beings. Suicide, drugs etc. are the result of the children filled with negativity and pessimism. These children mostly suffer from depression and do not want to open up.

There are several little steps that the parents can take to show that they care. The first among them is to find time for the kid and spending quality time with them; telling stories, giving music or art lessons, playing outdoor games etc.

Another thing that can be done is to see that the environment that the children live in is clean and hygienic. Also besides the basic hygiene, the room or the space that they create should have interesting and positive motifs.
